LDN ||

So the week started with Willow thinking she was giddy-ing up like a horse. Bless her, she enjoyed the sunshine so much.

Then on Saturday when I was on the way to Doncaster to see the other half, the train conductor clipped my ticket as usual, but not with a usual clip. It was a little train! Made me smile so much!

Our time in London started with much needed cuddles on one of the comfiest beds ever. Dan and I didn't wanna move! 

My first day alone whilst Dan was working was literally me not leaving the bed until I was hungry and had to get food. It was a pretty awesome day of much needed rest and sleep.

BUT! The day after, on Tuesday I headed into London town. I must've looked like a right tourist taking photos of everything. My day started at the butterfly park just outside the Natural History Museum.

They are so beautiful !

After that I headed to the History Museum and then the Science Museum.

I thought this was quite interesting; Go Mary!

The next lot of photos are from Trafalgar Square. Then I headed to St. Paul's Cathedral to light a candle then went to the Modern Tate and onto South-bank before heading home.

I've bought tickets for my Dad and I to see his exhibition in August!

St. Paul's Cathedral 

I picked these 1st Edition Penguin and Pelican books. 1942 and 1950. I loved them so much I had to get them. There was a little book-market and litho-prints available and they had a huge range of penguin books and old books that are no longer in print. Was quite interesting- any book lovers should definitely check it out.

When I got home I enjoyed my love-tub chico pudding :) Yum!

Yes, the Nando's black card does exist! And yes, we got a lot of free chicken, and yes.... it was delicious!

Spring? Summer?

Whatever the weather, our garden is always beautiful and is always interesting. 

Spring is such a beautiful time.

The latest three additions to our family...

LDN

So Dan had this fantastic opportunity at working at this pretty awesome design studio in London (who designs everything in-house for Nandos! (lucky sod!) I called a friend and asked for a favour and soon we found our way to London staying in a beautiful flat in Clapham Common. (Thank you for your kindness in helping us out- you know who you are!) Here's a few snaps throughout the week.

Dan and I walked to the studio, but we were a tad early so he treated us to a fantastic English breakfast at a local cafe. Turned out we went there every day until I had to leave. 

Whilst Dan was at this studio working hard, I pottered about London, dropping into design studios when I saw Invaders art work. For anyone who doesn't know who he is- look him up. He's like a mosaic Banksy..... And if you don't know who Banksy is then you really need educating on art and culture. Clearly, people had been picking off his tiles but it was still noticeable none the less.

After that I headed to YCN to just pop in and have a look around. 

Once I finished there, it wasn't even lunch time and I was wondered what the hell I was going to do for the rest of the day. After seeing Invaders art work I was thinking that I could just go around London looking for Banksy's work since I know that there are originals about somewhere.

My quest had begun.

I headed to Shore Ditch station and found this- a fence of love. People would write their name on a lock, lock in to the fence and throw away the key. It did look really pretty.

Firstly I headed to Mayfair to see this piece. I have to say, it wasn't where I expected it. Unless I had directions from the internet- I wouldn't have seen it. It was high up on a building side.

 After seeing the first piece, I headed down Oxford to see some lovely shops.

HEY HO! If you saw my last post, you've have seen this guy who I met.

Yeah, that was a pretty awesome 15 minutes of my day.

 

Finally, I headed to the BT tower and saw this piece. It's covered over with plastic to ensure it can't be removed or vandalised. It looked absolutely fantastic seeing this in the flesh. Everyone was wondering why on earth I was taking photos on graffiti. I'm guessing they didn't know. Tut.

It was a pretty awesome, full packed week. So much happened, saw so much and was lucky enough to meet a legend. And it's all thanks to Dan, because if he didn't get a fantastic opportunity, I couldn't have even gone. I'm a lucky gal :)

Oh hello Warwick Davis!

Just minding my own business walking down Oxford yesterday and who just I come across but the legendary Warwick Davis?!

I remember absolutely laughing my head off at watching him on Idiot Abroad when he went to China and was disgusted when eating Chinese food. Karl Pilkington was saying 'It's not that bad, the only thing that looks s*** is the rabbit head!'

I can completely relate to him, since having lived in Hong Kong. You can see the video of him here of youtube. Mind though, it does contain rude words and bad language so don't watch it if you're easily offended. Click here to see the click on youtube!

One of the highest points in Hull with Father David!

For those of you who might stumble upon this post but don't know much about me or this blog, my Father is the Vicar of St. James Sutton-on-Hull Church (see the website for this beautiful church by clicking here). On Saturday morning he took me up right to the top of the Church tower which is one of the highest points in Hull!

Here's a few snaps of the breath-taking view..

Firstly we had to go up a tiny spiral staircase all the way up to a floor. It was so small I barely fit in it.

After going up 3 ladders, we finally reached the top and after we climbed up onto the roof, this was the fantastic view that we saw.

On the way down the first set of ladders, my Dad tried to put the bell so that it would ring. Unfortunately, I think the bell was a little too heavy!

We're home!!

So as a lot of you would probably guess by now if you follow me on twitter & Instagram or are even my friend on facebook- Dan and I returned to the UK from our trip on Friday!

It was a big big secret since none of Daniel's family knew- it was a complete surprise for them. My brother and much of my family also didn't know.

The last week in Hong Kong was both sad and lovely. It was sad to leave but it was also lovely to know we were returning to our comforts and to the English things that we enjoy!

Our return home has been a month in the making, sending a lot of boxes home shipped as we just had too much stuff, preparing tickets and sorting a lot of things out in Hong Kong to ensure our return home was straight-forward.

DID- Dialogue in the Dark, Hong Kong

Today Daniel and I experience 'Dialogue in the Dark'. We were taken through a series of every day scenes by someone who is visually impaired in complete darkness. We are taken around by a man named Jack. For 75 minutes we experienced the world in a completely different way. Such a fun, scary and humbling experience. First we went outside and learnt about our surroundings with trees, plants, soil, grass and sand, then we went on a boat trip with wind and rain. This was followed by visiting the town and local shops. Afterwards we travelled to a theatre and listened to some films and music as well as exchanging money to buy drinks in a bar. Doing everything in pitch black with nothing but your hearing, smell, taste and touch is more difficult than it seems. It was absolutely inspiring. You can visit their website here.
