Ice Cream Recipe Book

My parents just bought an ice cream maker. We needed some recipes, so mum would have my mac in the kitchen whilst making the ice cream looking on the internet. So, to save my mac from some sort of spillage or ice cream related accident, I thought I'd make her an ice cream recipe book. It took me about an hour to collate the recipes, print and bind. It's not a masterpiece but I know my mum will like it. We made some absolutely gorgeous (but so fattening) vanilla and crushed malteaser ice cream. NOM!

Toaddy

It's been years since I've held a toad. My dad found this little toad near our patio area.  How lovely is he?

After naming this blog 'Froggy', my brothers friend said it was in fact a toad. For those of you that don't you know the difference between toads and frogs...

'The big question is what is the difference between frogs and toads? The problem with this question is that there isn’t an easy answer because toads ARE frogs, or at least they are in the frog family.

Frogs have smooth, wet skin that looks slimy. Toads have drier, rough skin that looks really bumpy, like warts. This is where the myth comes from that you will get warts when you touch a toad, but that just isn’t true. Toads do have a weird smell and yucky taste to their skin, though. This is to keep bigger animals from wanting to eat them.'

Well you learn something new everyday!

CanonFlex RP Prints !!

I've got a CanonFlex RP camera, a rare 1960's collectable camera. The CanonFlex is one of the first SLRs that Canon developed. 'Introduced in September, 1960, This was the economy version of the Canonflex. It was very similar in construction to the original Canonflex with the exception of the fixed pentaprism. It was produced until June 1962 and had a production run of about 30,000 units.' My brother Julian Clune is a photographer, to view his website and great work click here.   He gave me some film and showed me how to take pictures on this complicated camera. Here are some of the lovely first ever prints from it that I got developed today. I thought I was going to get black prints or really dark ones but I'm so impressed with these and their vintage look. I've definitely found a new love!!

The Humber Bridge

I went to the Humber Bridge just before sunset to get some photographs.  We couldn't find the viewpoint we wanted but here's a few amateur shots. It was so lovely watching the sunset, the sky was so clear with pinks and purples.

Rajah

I absolutely love my cat Rajah. I've had him since he was a kitten, he's such a rascal. Here's some photos of him being all sleepy...

Lead Type Printing

I thought it would be a fun idea to just ink up my lead type and see how well it is to print with them. I'd like to use these in future projects so here are some testers. They came out really well so I'm really quite chuffed! All I need now is a whole typeface with these and lots of gorgeous blues and green ink pots.
