Cosmo Blog Awards 2011

fashion
Please, if you pop on this page, even for just a few seconds I'd greatly appreciate if you nominate my blog for the Cosmo Blog Awards 2011 in STUDENT category.

It would be great to be acknowledged for this award. I'm an ordinary young woman but I have big dreams and ideas. Please help make this possible for me to continue what I love doing. I'd love to take my work and passion even bigger and better- worldwide!

Thank you,

Museum of Lincolnshire Life

'The museum of Lincolnshire Life is the largest and most diverse community museum in the country and reflects the history and culture of the people of Lincolnshire'

So today I was wandering round Lincoln and there was a Museum open so I thought I'd have a little look since it was free. They had rooms typically set up such as 'The Co-op' and 'The Ironmongers', 'the Post Office' and 'The Printers'. They were authentically set up as if from that time.

Here are a few of the photos, I have to apologise for the poor quality but these were taken on my phone.

The print machine with the eagle and below the letter press type. All around the room was typical examples of what would have been printed, pasted all over the walls.

Old oxo cube tins, how cute are these? And notice how the design has barely changed.

The sweet shop and all the old tins of sweets.

Lyrics to live by #2

I mentioned in this previous blog about lyrics to live by. Here are six more posters that I've done. All these lyrics quotes are really inspiring. Plus, John Mayer is an amazing artist. Give him a listen! I managed to get my boyfriend and his friends listening...

Nature is beautiful...

I went on a lovely walk this afternoon up a steep park and to the 'top of the hill' at lincoln. These are some of the photographs I took. A beautiful day full of nature and wildlife. You can see of my photographs here

A yummy plum hung on a tree tempting me.

A honey bee landing for nectar. The park was covered with this pink flower.

Don't they look so juicy! Make me think back to when I used to make bramble pie and crumble when I was younger.

A lady bird in the middle of take-off.

At the top of the hill was a marble powder artist from Indian. He was just going round asking everyone their names and then writing them with his hands, pouring the powder out. He was such a lovely man.

My name!

I saw this little red house, it looked freshly painted but it looks so so cute. Whoever lives there is lucky.

I couldn't resist a cheeky in-the-grass shot.

I made friends with a little cricket.

Bumble bee.

The sun was shining through the stained glass windows in Lincoln Cathedral. The whole floor in the first section of the church looked so colourful and warm.

Watercolour

Today is a really horrible day in Lincoln, it's raining and really humid and sticky so I'm stuck inside. I did some water colour painting back in March, you can see that post here. I've done a few little cute painting of a panda and a balloon.

Lyrics To Live By

I saw a website mentioned lyrics to 'live by'. These were inspirational lyrics and I thought that I should make my own collection of them. So here is the first one, a song by Jason Mraz, really lovely song, I reccomend you give it a listen here. There will be more to follow as I pick out lyrics in songs that I think I should personally live by.
